 Linguist behind new Romanization plan speaks out for new system 

 After enduring weeks of grilling and an onslaught of criticism, the
creator of the new Romanization  proposal is finally speaking out, trying to
explain the need for an "upgraded" system for writing Korean in  English.

 "The new system is intended to present the true linguistic integrity and
identity of the Korean language to the world," said Shim Jae-kee, director
of the National Academy of the Korean Language (NAKL).
