Dear Professor Paik,
How nice to hear from you. I am so happy to hear that you are well settled
and start to work. I am thinking it is sad that you will miss you in
Hamburg AKSE conference, but I hope you will be able to come next time.
Would you kindly convey my sincere regrets and greetings to your new
colleague, Prof. Song Hyo-sop in the Department of Korean Literature. I
admire him greatly, since we have met in ST.Petersburg two years ago. He
wrote me several times wonderful letters, and never replied him. He would
think I am a strange person. I was thinking to write to him, but as you
know, writing a thoughtful letter (I always send a hand-written letter)
takes time. This is no excuse, but could you kindly convey my feeling
please? You know me better than anyone, therefore I am asking you. The
invention of e-mail is truely marvellous, as it is so quick. However, as
the result, we spent more time to read and to reply instantly.
At any rate, we shall communicate further in future.
Yours sincerely
Youngsook Pak
