Is there anyone out there who still doubt about the use of the name =
Korea (with a K) prior to the Japanese occupation?
  I compiled the following list:

Alphabetically (without the references with C) all in all there are =
203 books written about Korea BEFORE in the period 1870~1900 in ALL =
Western languages

Hi, Henny. How have you been?

With a few exceptions, your references were after the Japanese "Unyo" =
invasion of Sept. 1875. It's interesting that the US gov't used 'C' =
until at least the late 19th C. and would be very interesting to see =
when the US officially changed their spelling of C/Korea and what =
international events were happening at the time. Personally, I think =
the spelling was a bit willy-nilly back during the late Chosun period =
(much like present-day romanizations of different words in Korea); the =
US, no doubt, took the 'C' spelling, originally, as their charts of =
Korea were borrowed from the French (Coree).
