Dear Owen Miller, Bill McCloy, Stefan Ewing, Ruediger Frank, Martin Holman,
Andriy, Ryzhkov, Michael Duffy, Javier Cha, Steven Ewing, Lawrence Driscoll,
Hyung Pai, and Gari Ledyard:
I would to like to thank you all for helping out me and Dr. Im Dae-Sik
with his question regarding "hanbando." I apologize for not replying sooner.
I had been tied down preparing for my oral defense, which I just took
yesterday.
A note about "chosenjin:" when reading primary source materials (mainly
documents published by the Chōsen Sōtokufu Keimukyoku, Chōsen Keisatsu
Shimbun, and other such police-related material), I see the contraction
"senjin," which seems even more insulting.
