Dear Colleagues,

The July meeting of the Chousenshi Kenkyuukai will be held Saturday, July
19, at Tokyo University's Hongo campus. This month's speakers, who will
present in Japanese, are below.

                      
Research Presentation:
Rokutanda Yutaka. "Contact among Korean and Japanese Ships in the Waters
South of KyOngsang Province and the Response of Navy Bases in the
Nineteenth Century: Focusing on an Incident from 1849 in the 'Tongnae-bu
kyerok'"

Book Review:
Yi HyOngsik. "Shokuminchi kanryou no seijishi: Chousen - Taiwan Soutokufu
to Teikoku Nihon," by Okamoto Makiko (Sangensha, 2008).


The meeting will begin at 1:30 pm in the Akamon Sougou Kenkyuutou, Room
738, at the Hongo campus of Tokyo University. Tokyo University is located
