25th AKSE BIENNIAL CONFERENCE

JUNE 17–20, 2011

CALL FOR PAPERS


The Association for Korean Studies in Europe invites you to attend its 25th Biennial Conference in Moscow, Russia, on June 17–20, 2011. The Conference will be hosted by the International Center for Korean Studies of Moscow State University, with the support of the Academy of Korean Studies (AKS).

Those who wish to present a paper at the conference should send the title of their proposed paper and a summary of approximately 1000 words (in English or Korean), plus a bibliography, and state the Subject Area (i.e. Pre-modern History, Modern History, Modern Korean Society, Religions and Philosophy, Linguistics, Anthropology and Folklore, Literature, and Arts and Archaeology).

Both individual papers and panels proposals will be accepted, but the formation of panels (minimum 3 presenters) is encouraged. Panel organizers should send in the panel proposal, consisting of the Panel Title, Key Words, and a Panel Abstract. The panel organizer should also provide a list of panel participants (both presenters and discussants, with their institutional affiliation) and 500 word abstracts of the respective panel papers (with title and key words).

Proposals must be submitted as an e-mail attachment in MS Word format (Times New Roman font, 12 point type, interlinear space 1, margins 2.5 cm) to the Secretary of AKSE, Dr. Pavel Leshakov:akse2011 at gmail.com. Please, use your last name as a document title (smith.doc, etc.). Deadline for receiving proposals is Осtober 31, 2010.
 
Notification of acceptance will be sent by December 31, 2010. If accepted, full text papers should be sent to the Secretary before April 15, 2011.

Please announce your intention to participate by e-mail by February 01, 2011. If you do not propose to present a paper but nevertheless want to take part in the conference, please announce your intention to participate by e-mail (preferably) or normal mail (address as below) .
