Symposium - Open to all
Recalling Korea Past: An Oral History of the 1950s to the 1980s
Date: Saturday, 26 November, 2011.
Venue: Korean Cultural Centre, London.
Time: 10AM to 5PM.
This symposium will be a unique opportunity to hear about the first-hand
experiences of British citizens who lived and worked in south Korea during
the critical period from the 1950s to the 1980s. Diplomats, journalists,
scholars, and missionaries will discuss the rapidly changing social,
political, cultural and religious circumstances of Korea from the
destitution of the immediate post-Korean War era to the time it emerged as
a major player on the world stage as a significant industrial and trading
nation.
All members of the public are invited to attend.
The Korean Culture Centre is located just off Trafalger Square in the Grand
Buildings, 1-3 Strand, London WC2N 5BW. The main entrance is on
Northumberland Avenue. The nearest underground station is Charing Cross.

Registration fees: £5 for members and for students, £10 for non-members.
