Something just came to mind. When Allied prisoners at a WWII POW camp in Hungnam / Konan were asked about their treatment under the Japanese, I recall that at least one of them said the Koreans that worked for the Japanese were "even meaner" than the Japanese bosses. If anyone wants a copy of the prisoner's statement, please contact me off list.
