Call
for presentations: 
 
The
Korean Screen Culture conference 2014 will be hosted by Stage and Screen
Studies, Department of Humanities at Sheffield Hallam University.  This will be the third annual conference, and
we welcome proposals for papers and panels on all aspects of South Korean
screen culture (production, distribution & reception of film, television,
music video, games, etc.). 
 
Keynote
Speakers:
 
·         Professor Chris Berry (Dept. Film Studies,
King’s College, London) 
 
·         Dr Michelle Cho (Dept. of East Asian
Studies, McGill University, Canada) 
 
For
the 2014 event, we are particularly interested in
proposals that reflect and explore the transnational and transmedia aspects in
Korean screen culture such as the impacts of the Korean Wave (Hallyu), transnational
adaptations, co-productions, collaborations, and various transmedia
practices.  
 
Please
submit abstracts of about 200 words, along with a short bio, to Dr Chi-Yun Shin
(c.y.shin at shu.ac.uk) by 28 February 2014.  Please note that all received submissions will
be acknowledged via return e-mail.  
 
Korean
Screen Culture 2014 has been timed to immediately follow Sheffield Doc/Fest
2014 (June 7-12).
