*Call for Nominations*

In connection with the upcoming AKSE Conference to be held in Copenhagen
(22-24 June, 2023), there will be elections for AKSE *President *and for
two***Members of Council*.

All AKSE members in good standing (as of the date of this announcement)
are eligible for Council membership. Candidates for the President
position must have served on the Council for at least two years.
AKSE members in good standing are invited to nominate candidates.
Self-nominations are not accepted. Because we hope for the widest
possible representation, when nominating people, please consult the AKSE
website for the current Council and consider regional, disciplinary, and
gender distributions in nominating new members. Nominations for the
President position must be supported by at least two AKSE members.

Nominations of candidates should be sent to the AKSE President by *1
June 2023* for election at the Copenhagen Conference. Nominations must
contain:

  * The nominee’s name and the nominator's names.
  * The written consent of the nominee
  * For the position of President: A written statement (300 words
maximum) of the nominee expressing visions and intentions.

Except for the President’s position, other positions within the AKSE
Council will be distributed among the elected Council members as
appropriate. Council members are elected for four years.

At the Copenhagen Conference, the Council will also propose and seek
acceptance from the membership for the following appointments within the
Council:

  * The current conference organiser has traditionally become the
*Vice-President* to provide continuity for the next conference.
  * The next AKSE Conference organizer will automatically become the
next *Secretary*, so the position is linked to the venue of the next
    conference.

*Council members leaving in 2023:*
Marion Eggert (President), Evelyne Chérel-Riquier (Vice-President, to be
replaced by current Secretary Barbara Wall), Diana Yuksel, Charlotte
Horlyck.

The names of candidates for the three Council positions will be put on
the AKSE website by June 10, 2023.
