<p>As a free-access, non-refereed electronic journal for scholars,
practitioners and students of multicultural education, Electronic Magazine of
Multicultural Education (EMME) publishes a variety of writings:<span
style="mso-spacerun: yes"> </span>(1) original (and occasionally reprinted)
scholarly papers, (2) practitioner essays, (3) instructional ideas, and (4)
reviews of professional and juvenile books and multimedia resources.<span
style="mso-spacerun: yes"> </span>Since the inception of the publication in
1999 each issue has focused on a theme: e.g., “International Perspectives on
Race and Ethnicity” for the most recent issue (go to <a
href="http://www.eastern.edu/publications/emme/previous.html">http://www.eastern.edu/publications/emme/previous.html</a>
for other back issues).<span style="mso-spacerun: yes"> </span>Any papers
broadly pertaining to multicultural issues are also published in the subsection
entitled Open Forum.<span style="mso-spacerun: yes"> </span>Currently over
1,500 readers visit the journal site each month from the United States and
other countries.<span style="mso-spacerun: yes"> </span>Since 1999 readers
from over 40 different countries have freely accessed EMME.<span
style="mso-spacerun: yes"> </span></p>
<p>We ask you to consider submitting papers to the upcoming issue of EMME under
the theme of<span style="mso-spacerun: yes"> </span>“<b>Interracial and Mixed
Racial Relationship and Family</b>.”<span style="mso-spacerun: yes"> </span>We
welcome any pieces of writing dealing with mixed racial issues,
cross-cultural/cross-racial adoption, families composed of multi-racial
members, multiple perspectives on interracial courtship and related issues.<span
style="mso-spacerun: yes"> </span>The deadline for submission has been
extended to November 30, 2001.<span style="mso-spacerun: yes"> </span>The
issue is scheduled to come out at the end of December 2001.<strong><o:p></o:p></strong></p>
<p>Please adhere to the following guidelines for submission: </p>
