<H1>Assistant professor (Adjunkt) - Asian Linguistics</H1></TD></TR>

<TD width=390>The Faculty of Humanities announces the following position
to be filled by 1st August 2004 or later: Department of Asian Studies,
Adjunkt (Assistant professor) in Asian
Linguistics.<BR><B><BR>Requirements:</B><BR>Documented original research
at the post-doctoral level in one or several subjects related to the Asian
linguistics. The successful candidate must document superior
qualifications in teaching as a foreign language one of the languages of
Asia. Ability to teach sociolinguistics would be an
advantage.<BR><B><BR>Durties: </B><BR>The selected candidate must be
committed to the development of the study of Asian languages at the
institute and must be prepared to assume general administrative duties
pertaining to the institute and to the department in general. He or she
will be expected to teach courses related to Asian linguistics, to carry
out instruction on one or more Asian languages, and to supervise students
at all levels. In addition, he or she will be responsible for the
organization, curriculum, and examination of the courses, which he or she

assistant professor is for a period of 3 years and requires the scientific
qualifications of a Ph.D. or equivalent scientific
qualifications.<BR><BR>Applicants are required to submit curriculum vitae
and a complete list of publications. A maximum of 6 scholarly works
(monographs and articles) in three copies may be submitted for assessment.
Material in electronic form - such as discs - is not accepted.
<BR><BR>Since the successful applicant must be able to participate in all
departmental and Faculty activities, including examination and
administration, it is required that if he/she is without previous
knowledge of Danish, he/she must acquire adequate knowledge of the
language within two years of the date of appointment.<BR><BR>The Dean of
the Faculty will appoint an assessment committee. Upon receipt of the
report of the committee each applicant will receive the specific portion
of the committee's assessment pertinent to him/her. The applications will
only be assessed in relation to the announced position.<BR><BR>Terms of
appointment and payment are in accordance with a new agreement between the
Ministry of Finance and the relevant professional organisation.
