<P>I am a Korean scholar who is teaching at Woosuk University. I have been working on Premodern Korean Poetry and interested in reading women's discourses from Feminist perspective. I am now writing to ask if you have already found panel members. I suspect that my response would be too late, but if you still need a scholar for assembling a panel, could you let me know it? If I join the panel, I would like to present a paper with a topic of "<EM>Naebang-gasa</EM> or Women's <EM>gasa</EM> poems in the late Choson period" relating it to Confucianism.</P>
<P>And this email is also a response to your another notice with a title "calling for papers: Confucianism and Women in late Choson Korea." Apart from the panel, I wish to join the publication of the volume. </P>

<DIV></DIV>>I am interested in assembling a panel for '05 AAS annual meeting and would

<DIV></DIV>>My proposed paper examines the relationship between Confucianism and women
<DIV></DIV>>in late Choson from the perspective of intellectual history. Another
<DIV></DIV>>scholar, who comes from South Korea, would be presenting a paper about
<DIV></DIV>>shifting status of women in late Chosun from the perspective of social
<DIV></DIV>>history.
<DIV></DIV>>
<DIV></DIV>>Thus I am seeking scholars interested in presenting work pertaining to
<DIV></DIV>>women's history, Confucianism, and/or any related topic in (preferably
<DIV></DIV>>premodern) Korean culture.
