Dear Richard and all,
<br>
<br>
What a weird topic - "North Korean anti-American terrorism" ? Never heard about North Koreans terrorising America and Americans... The Axe Murder and Pueblo incidents were conflicts between the military.
<br>
<br>
A useful source of information on the inspiration behind NK's anti-American sentiments is Gavan McCormack's book "Target North Korea: Pushing North Korea to the Brink of Nuclear Catastrophe", Nation Books, N.Y., 2004. But it may well induce your former student to reverse the topic.
<br>
<br>
However, the recent article in the New York Times, "Stranger Than Fiction" by By Brian R. MYERS (published on February 13, 2005 and available on-line
<br>
<a href="http://www.nytimes.com/2005/02/13/opinion/13myers.html?ex=1111035600&en=80f07af73c31a0a1&ei=5070" target=nlink>http://www.nytimes.com/2005/02/13/opinion/13myers.html?ex=1111035600&en=80f07af73c31a0a1&ei=5070</a> ), deals with the issues of bellicose North Korean propaganda and their "attack diplomacy" .
<br>
<br>
With very best regards,
<br>

>Dear Fellow Koreanists: A former student of mine would like to make a
<br>
presentation on what he terms "North Korean anti-American terrorism" for an
<br>
argumentation class he is taking this semester. Does anyone on this list
<br>
know of any books or articles that deal with the topic of North Korean
<br>
terrorism and the ideology or inspiration behind their anti-Americanism?
<br>
I directed him to the selected bibliography in Bruce Cumings' North Korea:
<br>
Another Country and the bibliography on North Korea at the University of
<br>
Hawaii website that contains a Bibliography on Korean History to begin his
<br>
<br>
search. I would greatly appreciate the titles of any books or articles you
<br>
<br>
think are relevant to his topic.
<br>

Thanks
