<P><FONT face=Arial><EM>Korea Journal</EM>, a quarterly academic journal, is calling for papers on the topic of the “Korean Wave” (<EM>hallyu</EM>).</FONT></P>

<P><FONT face=Arial>This is intended to provide more in-depth analysis of the Korean Wave, a popular culture phenomenon currently taking place in Asia. Accepted papers will be published in the winter 2005 or spring 2006 issue of the <EM>Korea Journal </EM>after being evaluated by the Korea Journal editorial board. Specific topics may include: <BR> <BR>- Transnational cultural capital and the Korean Wave, or Transnationality of the Korean Wave<BR>- Analysis of specific cultural products, including “Yon sama”<BR>- Comparative study of the Korean Wave among East Asian countries, such as China, Japan, and Vietnam<BR>- Overall review of the discourse surrounding the Korean Wave, including the question of whether this phenomenon can be sustained and developed<BR>- The Korean Wave from specific perspectives, including feminist viewpoints </FONT></P>

<P><FONT face=Arial>We also welcome any papers on topics other than those listed above, which can contribute to broader understanding of the Korean Wave.</FONT></P>
