<P>You might want to take a look at Viva Freedom (Chayu manse) directed by Ch'oe In-gyu. It has been released on DVD with subtitles and you can purchase it through English-language vendors such as yeondvd.com or yesasia.com.</P>
<P>It is a basically anti-Japanese resistance film released in the wake of the Liberation but also has some interesting scenes portraying the everyday life of the colonial period both at the workplace (hospital) and at home. </P>
<P>Another interesting factor is that Ch'oe had directed several pro-Japanese propaganda films during WWII before he made Viva Freedom in 1946. You can digitally download one of his pro-Japanese films (Mangru ^ui ky^olsadae) from the Korean Film Archive's homepage (<A href="http://www.koreafilm.or.kr">www.koreafilm.or.kr</A>) free of charge.</P>
