North and South Korea, and Topics in East Asian Relations. </DIV>
<DIV> </DIV>
<DIV>Akita International University is a relatively new, but already highly
rated academic institution. All classes are taught in English and all
students are required to study abroad for one year prior to graduation.
The university has exchange programs with more than 25 institutions around the
world. </DIV>
<DIV> </DIV>
<DIV>Akita International University is rated the third most difficult university
to gain admission to in Japan after the universities of Tokyo and Kyoto.
It is located in Akita, a one hour flight north of Tokyo.</DIV>
<DIV> </DIV>
<DIV>Students from outside Japan are welcome. A fully developed program in
the study of East Asia, focused on Japan, is offered for foreign students.
