for Korean Studies, a newly restructured institution of <?xml:namespace prefix =
st1 ns = "urn:schemas-microsoft-com:office:smarttags" /><st1:PlaceName
w:st="on">Seoul</st1:PlaceName> <st1:PlaceName
w:st="on">National</st1:PlaceName> <st1:PlaceType
w:st="on">University</st1:PlaceType>, created through the consolidation of the
Kyujanggak Archives into the <st1:place w:st="on"><st1:PlaceType
w:st="on">Institute</st1:PlaceType> of <st1:PlaceName w:st="on">Korean
Studies</st1:PlaceName></st1:place>, announces a new research fellowship program
starting in August 2007. However, candidates with exceptional qualifications may
apply for immediate consideration, with the fellowship term beginning in
September, 2006. The appointment is for one year but can be extended, upon
review, up to two years. The candidates should have a Ph.D. by the time of the
appointment, and demonstrate an outstanding research agenda related to the field
of Korean Studies. The fellowship will provide a $ 30,000 stipend (or up to $
40,000 for those with institutional affiliation), round-trip airfare, a $ 1,500
research fund, research assistance, and help in finding housing. Interested
fellows may elect to teach one course per academic year, with additional
remuneration. The online application deadline is <SPAN
