Korean language as he was turning his dissertation into a book<I

Diary</SPAN></I><SPAN lang=EN-US style="FONT-SIZE: 12pt">. He needed to address
many Korean place names and Buddhist temples in this book.<SPAN

graduate student, for three years so that the first professorship at Harvard on
Korean studies became possible.<o:p></o:p></FONT></SPAN></P>

well and this was when Reischauer was first asked to be the ambassador to
