<DIV>Visiting Assistant Professor of Korean Studies<BR><BR>Oberlin College
invites application for a full-time non-continuing<BR>faculty position in Korean
Studies, discipline depending on training<BR>and scholarly specialty.
Appointment to this position will be for a<BR>term of one year beginning first
semester of academic year 2007-2008<BR>and will carry the rank of Visiting
Instructor or Visiting Assistant<BR>Professor.<BR><BR>Applicants may be
specialists of any of the following areas of Korean<BR>Studies: sociology, film
studies, history, literature, and economics,<BR>but should be willing to teach
broadly from ancient times to the<BR>present and able to develop an appropriate
set of courses at the<BR>intermediate and advanced levels. The incumbent will
teach a total of<BR>five courses in Korean Studies, including 1) two
introductory courses<BR>in Korean society, history, and culture: 2) a thematic
approach to the<BR>society and cultures of Korea, and 3) two advanced courses
introducing<BR>research methodologies in the discipline of the individual
and<BR>approaches in Korean and East Asian studies.<BR><BR>Among the
qualifications required for appointment is the PhD degree in<BR>hand or expected
by first semester of academic year 2007-2008.<BR>Candidates must demonstrate
interest and potential excellence in<BR>undergraduate teaching. Successful
teaching experience at the college<BR>level is desirable.<BR><BR>To be assured

graduate academic transcripts, teaching<BR>demonstration DVD or video, and at
