<p class="MsoNormal" style="MARGIN: 0cm 0cm 0pt"><span lang="EN-US" style="FONT-SIZE: 12pt; FONT-FAMILY: "Georgia","serif"">Following the precedent of the previous Kyujanggak symposia, the plenary panel of the symposium will be devoted to the main topic, but the remaining panels are open to any topic related to Korean studies. We would therefore like to invite panel proposals on topics that deal with pathbreaking new research on Korea, both contemporary and pre-modern. Panels can use either English or Korean as the main language of presentation.<br /></span><span lang="EN-US" style="FONT-SIZE: 12pt; FONT-FAMILY: "Georgia","serif"">

<p class="MsoNormal" style="MARGIN: 0cm 0cm 0pt"><span lang="EN-US" style="FONT-SIZE: 12pt; FONT-FAMILY: "Georgia","serif"">Panels should consist of four to five presenters, and panel organizers are responsible for bringing together paper proposals and applying. Panel proposals – including title and short abstracts of the panel and of individual papers, and short CVs of the organizer and panelists – should be sent to <a href="mailto:icks@snu.ac.kr">icks@snu.ac.kr</a> by February 10, 2010. Panel organizers will be notified by March 15, 2010 whether their panel has been accepted; all presenters of selected panels will be reimbursed for their travel to Seoul and will receive free lodging and meals for the duration of the conference. Final papers should be sent in by June 30, 2010. Further details will be announced by e-mail to those who have sent in a panel application.
