Dear Prof. Baker,<div><br></div><div>it is not necessary to install a Korean version of Windows 7 in order to run the latest hangul processing program, since the underlying code of the program is the same. All you need to do is make sure that you have Asian language support activated. If you have Windows 7 ultimate, it supports all different kinds of languages any way. I am not sure if any other version of Windows 7 supports languages the same way that XP used to.</div><div><br></div><div>It may also be possible to recover the remaining files from your original Windows partition, provided that you are not currently writing over the partition of the drive after restoring your Mac partition. You would have to start your computer in target disk mode, and connect it to another Mac computer via the Firewire port. This way, all the contents of your computer's drive will show in the other computer, and you can transfer files from the old Windows partition to another drive. Everything can be seen and moved, even the Windows files. I have a computer question for the Korean Studies crowd. I use a Mac but have created a Windows partition so I can read hwp files. However<div>my hard drive died recently. I was able to restore the Mac part of my hard drive (thanks to that wonderful Apple creation Time Machine) but was not able to restore he Windows portion of my hard drive. I plan to do so soon. However, I'd like to upgrade from the Windows XP with Han'gul 2005 I was using. </div><div><br></div><div>Can anyone tell me if, in order to use the latest Han'gul word processing program, if I have to install the Korean version of Windows 7 first or if the lastest Han'gul word-processing program will run ok on top of an English Windows operating system?
