University of Massachusetts Amherst invites applications for a 3 year renewable
full-time lectureship in Korean language (6 courses per year) beginning Fall
2012. The successful candidate will be prepared to offer courses in elementary,
intermediate and/or advanced Korean language. The Korean language lecturer will
play a vital role in our innovative learning model that accommodates the needs
of students spread among the five campuses. A strong commitment to
undergraduate teaching in language is expected.</span></p>

<p class="MsoNormal" style="text-indent:48.0pt;mso-pagination:none;mso-layout-grid-align:
none;text-autospace:none"><span style="font-family:"Times New Roman"">The
Korean language lecturer will be a joint appointee in the Five College Korean Language
Program and will be based in the Department of Languages, Literatures, and
Cultures on the University of Massachusetts Amherst campus. Joint appointees
normally teach on more than one campus. <span style="color:#0D0D0D">Salary is
commensurate with qualifications and experience.</span></span></p>

Qualifications: Native or near-native fluency in Korean and English. The
academic field of specialization should be </span><span style="font-family:
"Times New Roman";mso-bidi-font-family:Tahoma">in a field of language education
such as TESOL or linguistics and education. </span><span style="font-family:
"Times New Roman"">Ph.D. preferred, Master’s degree required as is </span><span style="font-family:"Times New Roman";mso-bidi-font-family:Tahoma">at least one year
of experience teaching Korean at a college-level institution. </span><span style="font-family:"Times New Roman"">Interested candidates should send letter
of application, curriculum vitae, three letters of recommendation, </span><span style="font-family:"Times New Roman";mso-bidi-font-family:Tahoma">including one
from a former institutional employer</span><span style="font-family:"Times New Roman"">,
