Hi Clark:<div><br></div><div>Here is gets just a little bit more complicated.</div><div><br></div><div>Once you have clicked "Korean" beneath the flag on your menu bar and starting writing in Han'gul, you can scroll down that international keyboard menu until you get to Hangul (below "show trackpad handwriting." That submenu only shows up when you are writing in Han'gul.) There you can click on "Hangul input method preferences." Once you are in "preferences," click on Hanja input. There you will find three choices-- Hanja alone, hangul followed by Hanja in parentheses, and hanja followed by hangul in parentheses. </div><div><br></div><div>Now if I can only get my calligraphy decent enough for the trackpad handwriting program to understand what hanja I am writing! I guess I didn't do enough writing of hanja with my finger on the palm of my hand when I was in Korea. </div><div><br></div><div>Cheers,</div><div>Don</div><div><br><br>Don Baker <div>Professor</div><div>Department of Asian Studies </div><div>University of British Columbia </div><div>Vancouver, Canada V6T 1Z2 </div><div>don.baker@ubc.ca</div><br><br><div><div id="SkyDrivePlaceholder"></div>> Date: Fri, 24 Aug 2012 10:24:31 -0700<br>> From: sangok@u.washington.edu<br>> To: koreanstudies@koreaweb.ws<br>> Subject: Re: [KS] Getting Hanja in Mac IME<br>> <br>> Thanks. This works. The only thing is, the hanja follows the hangul in parentheses. While I suppose that's how Korean is written these days, I'm an old codger who sometimes just wants the hanja in there by themselves.<br>> <br>> Clark<br>> <br>> On Thu, 23 Aug 2012, matty wegehaupt wrote:<br>> <br>> > For hanja on Mac - First of all - I use the 2-Set Korean input method that comes with the Mac OS<br>> > 1.
