 in Korea and marks the beginning of a partnership between the Wilson Center and the Syngman Rhee Institute which will result in the digitization and dissemination of the presidential papers of former South Korean president Syngman Rhee.<u></u><u></u></span></p>

<p class="MsoNormal"><span style="font-size:10.0pt;font-family:"Arial","sans-serif";color:#444444;background:white">The event is being held to commemorate the signing of a memorandum of understanding between the Wilson Center and the Syngman Rhee Institute.
 As part of the new partnership between the two institutions, the Syngman Rhee Institute will be providing the Wilson Center with copies of Rhee’s personal and presidential papers. The papers will be made available to researchers on the History and Public Policy
 Program’s new Digital Archive, which is scheduled to go online in January 2013.<u></u><u></u></span></p>

<p class="MsoNormal"><b><span style="font-size:10.0pt;font-family:"Arial","sans-serif";color:#444444;background:white">Ezez Manela</span></b><span style="font-size:10.0pt;font-family:"Arial","sans-serif";color:#444444;background:white">, Professor of History
 at Harvard University and author of <i>The Wilsonian Moment: Self-Determination and the International Origins of Anticolonial Nationalism</i>, will open the panel by discussing Woodrow Wilson's legacy in Korea as well as the personal relationship between Wilson
 and Syngman Rhee. <b>Lew Seok-Choon</b>, director of the Syngman Rhee Institute at Yonsei University, will provide an introduction to Rhee’s personal papers.
<b>James Person</b>, Senior Program Associate in the History and Public Policy Program at the Wilson Center, will speak on how the Wilson Center Plans to disseminate these sources to the general public.
