<p class="MsoNormal"><span lang="EN-US">In order to sustain the
fight for peace on
the Korean peninsula, the global community needs change-agents
who are
well-informed about the historical, political, social, and
economic aspects of North Korea.
The Engage Korea Conference seeks to address this need by
convening scholars
and experienced experts on North Korea, which will help
facilitate a
transition of knowledge. This humanitarian educational
initiative allows for
scholars to engage with North Korea-related issues critically,
through a lens
undistorted by popular discourse.</span></p>
<p class="MsoNormal"><span lang="EN-US">The theme of the
conference is ‘How can the
international community effectively engage North Korea?’ - an
important timely
question to discuss with new leadership within the past year
in all countries
previously involved in Six-Party talks with North Korea (South
Korea, US,
Japan, China, Russia). By convening top scholarly experts, who
have travelled
extensively to North Korea
and encompass a variety of backgrounds in politics, economics,
and
humanitarianism, the conference will spark discussion on
innovative ways that
will lead to the actualization of peace on the Korean
peninsula.</span><span style="font-size:14.0pt" lang="EN-US"></span></p>
