This is a joint-appointment, tenure-track position supported by the Korea Foundation: start date, August 2017. We are seeking a cultural or linguistic anthropologist who will take a leading role in the development of Korean Studies on our campus. The successful candidate will be able to teach introductory and thematic courses for Anthropology and International Studies as well as upper-level and graduate courses with a focus on Korea. Candidates should have an active fieldwork program, a strong commitment to teaching, and the language proficiency to conduct original research in Korean. Ph.D. in Anthropology is required by the time of appointment. Tenure and promotion reside in the Department of Sociology and Anthropology.
