Michigan Nam Center for Korean Studies is accepting applications for its
inaugural manuscript workshop. The manuscript workshop, to be held on <b>May 12, 2018</b> (Sat), will offer two
junior faculty members, preparing a book-length manuscript or other similarly
substantial academic publications, with an opportunity to further develop their
manuscripts for publication. <span></span></span></p>
<p class="gmail-MsoNormal"><span style="font-family:Georgia,serif">At the workshop,
the participants will receive critical feedback on their manuscript from up to
two senior faculty mentors, and the participants will be asked to nominate the
senior faculty mentors as part of the application. Each manuscript will be
circulated in advance and discussed in turn. <span></span></span></p>
<p class="gmail-MsoNormal" style="background-image:initial;background-position:initial;background-size:initial;background-repeat:initial;background-origin:initial;background-clip:initial"><span style="font-family:Georgia,serif">The Nam Center </span><span style="font-family:Georgia,serif">seeks to develop a network of scholars in
Korean studies, and the workshop participants will be asked to serve as a
discussant for one paper session of the </span><a href="https://www.ii.umich.edu/ncks/news-events/events/conferences---symposia/2018-nekst.html"><span style="font-family:Georgia,serif">2018
International Conference of NextGen Korean Studies Scholars (NEKST)</span></a><span class="gmail-MsoHyperlink"><span style="font-family:Georgia,serif">, which will take place concurrent to the workshop</span></span><span style="font-family:Georgia,serif">
