POSTDOCTORAL RESEARCHER IN 17TH AND/OR 18TH CENTURY EAST ASIAN HISTORY (CHINA).</strong><br><strong>2. POSTDOCTORAL RESEARCHER IN 17TH AND/OR 18TH CENTURY EAST ASIAN HISTORY (KOREA). </strong><br><strong>3. PHD BURSARY IN 17TH-19TH CENTURY JAPANESE HISTORY.</strong><br><strong>4. PHD BURSARY IN 17TH-19TH CENTURY KOREAN HISTORY.</strong><br><br>Aftermath is a five year project run by Prof. Rebekah Clements (<a href="https://www.icrea.cat/">ICREA</a>, <a href="https://www.uab.cat/web/universitat-autonoma-de-barcelona-1345467954774.html">Autonomous University of Barcelona</a>). The project is a large-scale attempt to understand the environmental, demographic, and technological legacy of the East Asian War of 1592-1598, also known as the Imjin War and Toyotomi Hideyoshi's Invasions of Korea. <br></p><p>The successful candidates will undertake their research as part of a team of international researchers in the context of an innovative project within the prestigious <a href="https://erc.europa.eu/">European Research Council</a> framework. They will be provided with a working space at the Universitat Autònoma de Barcelona in a shared office with other members of the group, and will be expected to be regularly present in the office to collaborate with other members of the team. There will be generous funding for fieldwork, the purchase of books, and conference travel.<br><strong></strong></p><p><strong>Please note that the language of the project is English and applicants are not expected to speak Spanish or Catalan</strong>.
