<p class="MsoNormal"><font size="2" face="Calibri"><span lang="EN-US" style="font-size:11.0pt">Heidelberg University announces a search for a lecturer in Korean Language and Studies as part of its endeavor to develop Korean Studies. The initial appointment
will begin in October 2019 and last until September 2022, with the possibility of tenure afterwards. The salary will be 50% of a regular lecturer with the German title of Akademische Mitarbeiter. The teaching load is up to 9 units of 45 minutes per week and
includes classes in Korean Language and Studies in the BA for East Asian Studies and English-language seminars in the M.A. in Transcultural Studies. The administrative expectation is liaison with our main partners in Korea (Seoul National University, Korea
University, Yonsei University) and includes assistance in organizing conferences in Korean Studies, conducting research programs including translations and support in Korean Studies fundraising efforts at Heidelberg University. Your academic qualification
would be a Ph.D. in any field related to Korean Studies with preferences for modern history or social sciences. We expect native-level proficiency in Korean and fluency in English. Japanese skills would also be an asset. Willingness to learn German is expected.
This position is supported by a grant from the Korea Foundation until 2022.<o:p></o:p></span></font></p>
