<p class="gmail-p1" style="margin:0px;font-variant-numeric:normal;font-variant-east-asian:normal;font-stretch:normal;font-size:13px;line-height:normal;font-family:Arial;color:rgb(20,20,20)">We were forced to cancel the 2020 conference due to the COVID-19 pandemic, and we continue to monitor health and safety conditions here in Japan. Given the uncertainty surrounding this ongoing pandemic, we cannot absolutely rule out a similar occurrence in the future. Nonetheless, we are planning for an on-site meeting in 2021. We have no plans for a hybrid or online only conference.</p>

<p class="gmail-p4" style="margin:0px;font-variant-numeric:normal;font-variant-east-asian:normal;font-stretch:normal;font-size:13px;line-height:normal;font-family:Arial;color:rgb(0,0,0)">Since 2014 the ASCJ has awarded the L.B. Grove Graduate Student Paper Prize. For details on this competition please see the “Conference” section of the ASCJ website. To be considered for this prize the student must be enrolled in a degree program at a Japanese university and be accepted as a presenter at the ASCJ 2021 Conference. The deadline for submission of the completed paper is June 15, 2021. The winner will be announced at the time of the keynote lecture.</p>
