<span style="color:black">With the support of generous grants from the Ministry of Education of the Republic of Korea and the Academy of Korean Studies (AKS) within the framework of the Core Korean Studies Program, the Korean Studies Department at Goethe University
of Frankfurt is accepting applications for its Fellow-in-Residency program. The program is open to scholars whose research and teaching pertains to Korea from a larger comparative or interdisciplinary. As specified in the Research Plan of the Frankfurt Core
Korean Studies Program, a <span style="background:white">project that </span>connects with <span style="background:white">the theme of </span>“Cultivating diversity: the global in Korea, Korea in the global” would be<span style="background:white"> highly desirable</span> approach. <o:p></o:p></span></p>
<p class="MsoNormal" style="background:white"><span lang="EN-GB" style="color:black">The fellow must hold a Ph.D. degree and currently be a university lecturer/professor</span><span style="color:black"> in the humanities and social sciences, who is engaged
in Korea-related teaching and research activities. <span style="background:white">Previous experience in research into the Frankfurt Core Korean Studies Project theme of </span>“Cultivating Diversity: the global in Korea, Korea in the global” <span style="background:white">is
highly desirable. </span><o:p></o:p></span></p>
<p class="MsoNormal"><span lang="EN-GB" style="color:black">The successful candidate will be expected to:<o:p></o:p></span></p>
<p class="MsoNormal"><span style="color:black"><o:p> </o:p></span></p>
<p class="MsoNormal"><span lang="EN-GB" style="color:black">(1) </span><span style="color:black">reside in Frankfurt up to 2 months during the semester periods (between May and June or November and January) <o:p></o:p></span></p>
<p class="MsoNormal"><span style="color:black">(</span><span lang="EN-GB" style="color:black">2) publish a peer-reviewed journal article within two years of the end of the fellowship with acknowledgment to the fellowship programme </span><span style="color:black"><o:p></o:p></span></p>
<p class="MsoNormal"><span lang="EN-GB" style="color:black">(3) teach 2 seminars (one for Frankfurt Korean Studies students, one for Hamburg/Bonn) preferably in German language. The two seminars can be identical, but should be held at two different universities, </span><span style="color:black"><o:p></o:p></span></p>
<p class="MsoNormal"><span lang="EN-GB" style="color:black">(4) participate in the department’s academic and cultural activities, such as colloquia, workshops, and conferences. <o:p></o:p></span></p>

<p class="MsoNormal" style="background:white"><span lang="EN-GB" style="color:black">The fellowship will cover up to a two-month period in 2022/2023 and provide a stipend of 5,000 euros, a contribution towards costs for publication, shared office space and
access to libraries and resources at Goethe University.</span><span style="color:black"><o:p></o:p></span></p>
