<p class="MsoNormal"><span lang="EN-US" style="font-size:11.0pt;font-family:"Calibri",sans-serif;color:black">The extensive and rapid economic, political, and socio-cultural changes that various regions and countries in Asia have been experiencing are generating
numerous interesting and highly significant study topics. Dealing with the theme of continuity and change, the present collective monograph aims at depicting Asia in all its dynamics and complexity. Its goal is to discuss the past and present developments
in Asia across a variety of domains, including the underlying reasons and causes as well as possible consequences, but also the interplay between the old or traditional and the new. Papers addressing the changes brought about by the ongoing COVID-19 pandemic
as well as those focusing on Asia’s future are also highly welcome.<o:p></o:p></span></p>
<p class="MsoNormal"><span lang="EN-US" style="font-size:11.0pt;font-family:"Calibri",sans-serif;color:black"><o:p> </o:p></span></p>
<p class="MsoNormal"><span lang="EN-US" style="font-size:11.0pt;font-family:"Calibri",sans-serif;color:black">The intention for this volume is to accumulate different approaches to the general topic embodied in the title of the volume. Therefore, we invite
contributions that concern any region in Asia and focus on the topic from a variety of perspectives, including linguistics, literature, arts, cultural studies, media studies, sociology, anthropology, history, philosophy, political science, international relations,
cultural geography, and other fields. The volume is based on the 15th Annual Conference on Asian Studies (<a href="http://acas.upol.cz">http://acas.upol.cz</a>), organized by the Department of Asian Studies at Palacký University Olomouc. However, it is open
to any thematically relevant submissions that have not been previously published and are not under consideration for publication in any other form or outlet.<o:p></o:p></span></p>
<p class="MsoNormal"><span lang="EN-US" style="font-size:11.0pt;font-family:"Calibri",sans-serif;color:black"><o:p> </o:p></span></p>
<p class="MsoNormal"><span lang="EN-US" style="font-size:11.0pt;font-family:"Calibri",sans-serif;color:black">In order to collect chapters for this collective monograph, we invite extended abstracts in English dealing with any issues that are relevant to the
general theme as described above. The abstracts should be emailed to <a href="mailto:olas@upol.cz">
olas@upol.cz</a> as a PDF file. The file should include the title of the paper, the author’s full name, affiliation, e-mail address, keywords, and the abstract, which must be 700–1,000 words long. The abstract submission deadline is January 30, 2022. Decisions
on the abstracts will be sent out in mid-February. The submission deadline for full papers based on the accepted abstracts is April 30, 2022. The required length of the full papers is approximately 10–11,000 words (excluding references, tables, etc. from the
word count). The papers will subsequently undergo a standard double-blind peer-review process. The estimated date of publication is late 2022/early 2023.
