<div class="ContentPasted0">University (ASU) invites applications for a full-time, tenure-eligible Assistant Professor in</div>
<div class="ContentPasted0">History with a specialization in modern Korean history (19th and 20th centuries). The anticipated</div>
<div class="ContentPasted0">start date is August 2023.</div>
<div class="ContentPasted0">The successful candidate will have a tenure home in SHPRS and will teach in-person and online</div>
<div class="ContentPasted0">courses on the history of modern Korea and Asia and as required by the undergraduate and</div>
<div class="ContentPasted0">graduate programs. We welcome applications from scholars working in all specializations, with a</div>
<div class="ContentPasted0">preference for candidates whose work engages one or more of the following themes: science and</div>
<div class="ContentPasted0">technology, colonialism and empire, migration and diaspora, or race and ethnicity.</div>
<div class="ContentPasted0">The successful applicant will be encouraged to work in collaboration with other ASU faculty</div>
<div class="ContentPasted0">members to (1) foster Asia-focused research at the university across its many Schools and in</div>
<div class="ContentPasted0">concert with the Asia Center and (2) to sustain and build a robust undergraduate curriculum in</div>
<div class="ContentPasted0">Asia studies in connection with degree programs in SHPRS (Asia Studies) and the School of</div>
<div class="ContentPasted0">International Letters and Cultures (SILC), as well as minors and certificate programs in Korean</div>
<div class="ContentPasted0">Studies and related fields.</div>
<div class="ContentPasted0">Required Qualifications:</div>
<div class="ContentPasted0">• Ph.D. in modern Korean history or related discipline by the time of appointment</div>
<div class="ContentPasted0">• Evidence of research excellence</div>
<div class="ContentPasted0">• Demonstrated teaching capacity in modern Korean history and related societies and histories of</div>
<div class="ContentPasted0">Asia</div>
<div class="ContentPasted0">• Evidence of proficiency in the Korean language</div>
<div class="ContentPasted0">Desired Qualifications:</div>
<div class="ContentPasted0">• Demonstrated interest in one or more of the following areas: science and technology,</div>
<div class="ContentPasted0">colonialism and empire, migration and diaspora, or race and ethnicity</div>
