and expand our understanding of Korean film and drama in regards to the intersections of gender, genre, and language. This interdisciplinary symposium aims to bridge theoretical frameworks, concepts, and research across fields. From blockbuster and acclaimed
Bong Jong Ho’s horror and science fiction film Parasite, to the feminist politics of auteur Yim Soon Rye, the popularity and epistemology of zombie K-drama, and critical poetics on experimental films of Theresa Hak Kyung Cha, the symposium seeks to add to
the ever growing field of Korean cinema and television studies and to envision new horizons.
