The website was designed by Prof. James Chae of Hongik University, whose contribution is herewith gratefully acknowledged. <span style="color: black;" class="ContentPasted0">For the past several months, KLA’s Executive Committee has put in some effort to make the new website into a resource for scholars of Korean literature in North America and beyond. Many thanks are due to the
members of the committee--<span style="border:1pt none windowtext;padding:0in" class="ContentPasted0">Jae Won Edward Chung, </span>Jina Kim, Immanuel Kim, and Pil Ho Kim. The website introduces a few features and services that will hopefully be of use to our
community, including a list of fellowships and grants, information on relevant professional societies, teaching resources, and an archive of sample syllabi. These resources are accessible to anyone, so please feel free to share and circulate them to students
and colleagues.</span></p>

<span style="color: black;" class="ContentPasted0">In other news, coming up soon will be KLA’s Annual Conference, which will take place at the University of Southern California in Los Angeles on November 10 and 11, 2023. The conference title is <span style="border:1pt none windowtext;padding:0in" class="ContentPasted0">"The
Posthuman, the Human, and the Non-Human: New Narratives and Critical Perspectives in Korean Studies." <span style="color: black;" class="ContentPasted0">Finally, please consider supporting KLA by becoming an annual member, attending our conference, and/or by donating any sum that you feel comfortable contributing. The funds that we are raising will enable KLA
to perform its function all the while facing the inevitable operational costs for website maintenance, conference organization, and more. The members of our Executive Committee work on a voluntary basis and receive no monetary compensation for their services.
KLA is currently budgeting for the provision of travel grants and accommodation subsidies for our conference attendees. The more generously we can all contribute to the association, the more we can ensure that the younger and less established members of our
community can participate, promote their scholarship, advance their careers, and ultimately nurture the field of Korean literature.</span></p>
