symposium, <b>K-pop and the West: Media, Fandom, and Transnational Politics</b>, October 27-28, 2023. The symposium aims at creating an opportunity to think about research, pedagogy, and methodologies in our critical study of K-pop in the West. Keynote speakers
will be Dr. Dafna Zur, Stanford University, and Dr. Thomas Baudinette, Macquarie University,

<p class="MsoNormal"><span style="font-size:12.0pt">The Asia Research Institute has funding to provide accommodations and meals for symposium attendees, even if not presenting on a panel. Funding is limited, so priority will be given to (1) faculty and graduate
students whose work is directly related to the symposium themes; (2) scholars from institutions that generally do not provide funding for research or conference attendance; and (3) tenure track assistant professors. There is no registration fee for the symposium.
Attendees will need to pay for their own travel to Buffalo. <o:p></o:p></span></p>
