as into South Korean society during the three-month occupation period early in the Korean War. Further papers in this issue consider governmental responses and recording of fire outbreaks and arson in Chosŏn during the fifteenth century, regionalism among
gay men in South Korea and Japanese efforts at Imperial self-promotion in Sweden through archaeology in colonial Korea. The
