>      Linguist Lee Ki-moon, 67, has been chosen top winner of the
>      Fukuoka Asian Cultural Prizes, which are given to those who make

>      development of Asia. The award ceremony will be held in Fukuoka,

>      Lee, an honorary professor at Seoul National University, is known
>      for his achievements in the study of the Korean language from a
>      historical and comparative perspective.

>      Lee's analysis of the relationship between Korean, Japanese and

>      studies in East Asian languages. He wrote several books on the
>      history of the Korean language, some of which were translated
>      into other languages. Lee also played a major role in

>      The Fukuoka Asian Cultural Prizes were initiated by the Fukuoka
