[KS] Korean Language Preceptor Position

	The Department of East Asian Languages and Civilizations of Harvard
University invites applications for the full-time position of Preceptor in
Korean commencing 9/1/99.  The position is renewable annualy up to a
maximum of eight years.

	Native or near-native fluency in Korean and an excellent command of
English are required.  Preference will be given to candidates with degrees
in Linguistics, Foreign Language Education, or TESOL, and with considerable
experience at the college level teaching Korean to English-speaking
students.  Harvard offers instruction in Korean from elementary through the
fourth year level.  The actual level of instruction assigned to the
successful candidate will be determined later, but candidates with
experience teaching at a variety of levels, and with experience in
computer-assisted language teaching, are especially welcome.  The
responsibilities of the Preceptor include the supervision and training of
Drill Instructors assigned to the same level of instruction as the
Preceptor.  Finalists may be asked to demonstrate teaching skills in an
actual classroom situation.
