        University of Michigan


The University of Michigan, through its International Institute and with
the participation of departments in the College of Literature, Science
and the Arts, invites applications and nominations for a position in
Korean
Studies with a specialization in the humanities broadly construed.
Appointment to begin September 1999; rank open but a completed PhD is
required in order to apply.  Depending upon experience and rank, the
successful candidate may be asked to assume leadership responsibilities
in the Korean Studies Program.  Junior applicants please include a CV,
three letters of recommendation, a writing sample and evidence of
teaching excellence.  Senior applicants please include a CV and a sample
of your most recent work.  Applications will be reviewed until the
position is filled.
