Dear Colleagues and Friends in the Southern California Area:

I apologize for this late notice, but this is something that brewed up
just over the weekend. 

**Lecture on Modern Korean Literature**

Dr. Kwon Youngmin
Prof. of Korean Literature
Seoul National University
Currently, Visiting Professor, Dept. of East Asian Languages, UC Berkeley

will give a lecture on
"Narrative Mode and Narrative Discourse During the Enlightenment Period"
(_Kaehwa kyemong sidae Ui sOsa yangsik kwa sOsa tamnon_)

His lecture will be delivered in Korean.

Dr. Kwon Youngmin, the towering figure in modern Korean literature in
Korea, will be giving a talk on his latest study of the Enlightenment
Period (Late 19th C-Early 20th C). He will bring into focus existing
strands of narrative modes and discourses to shed a new light on the
formation of modern Korean literature.
