Tenure-track Assistant Professorship in Comparative Asian Literature and
Culture,  Department of Literature, commencing 7/1/2000.  Seek comparatist
with primary focus on modern Korean literature and culture.  Strong
research and teaching in interdisciplinary and transnational perspectives,
colonial or post-colonial studies, cultural studies, theories in gender and
sexuality, and/or film studies preferred.  Must have Ph.D. or equivalent
and evidence of exceptional potential in scholarship and teaching at both
graduate and undergraduate levels.  Applications from candidates trained in
disciplines other than Literature also encouraged.  Salary commensurate
with experience and based on UC pay scale.  Noncitizens should state
immigration status in CV.   Send letter of application, CV, dossier, and
