Jong Song Ok wins world title in women's marathon race

Pyongyang, August 31 (KCNA) -- Girl of the DPRK Jong Song Ok came first
in the women's
marathon race of the 7th World Athletics Championships held in Seville,
Spain on August 29.
She sped up from the point about 3 km before the finish line, leaving a
strong Japanese rival
behind, and finally crossed the finish line in two hours 26 minutes 59 seconds.
25 years old jong belongs to the Amnokgang Sports Team.
All papers here today gave much space to articles praising her as a
pride of the Korean nation
who brilliantly decorated the 20th century as well as to the world reaction
to her success.
