And just to add to the fun, I'll chime in that the Bando was built by
Noguchi Jun the chemical tycoon.  The building across the street from the
Bando that was used by the U.S. Embassy as its chancery from the early
fifties until the late sixties and thereafter as the USIS building, was
originally the Mitsui Building, built in 1937.
