After re-reading this, the more anarchistic part of my stomach
starts mumuring. I understand Ruediger's very good intentions,
really -- thanks!! But I feel I should clarify that the CD project
was initiated with the idea to create a useful tool for the Korean
studies commuity -- and we especially had scholars like you in
mind. Other than, for example, the CD version of the Sillok,
this was never meant to be a money-making product. If the sales
revenues will cover the Institute's costs spent to finance the
product, then I am sure the Korea Institute would be more than
happy. But, and this is only my personal opinion, even if this
will not be the case, it was still worth it, since we don't talk
about a business venture here.
I hope you folks will make good use of the CD ... that, in my
humble opinion, really is a much better way to "honor" the work
done.

NOTE: It is illegal to make copies of the CD itself or of the
(hard drive) installer file located on the CD, but there is no
limitation as regards to the number of computers on which you
can take the CD to install the package.

Yes, as was announced on this list some time ago it is out --
although some Web sites (Amazon.com, etc.) may still list it
as forthcoming. It costs $25, and you can order it through your
neighbourhood bookseller or online. All information (including
ordering information) is here: http://www.fas.harvard.edu/~korbib/
The ISBN # is: 0-674-00239-3.
