Dear Gari,

What an introduction!  What a gift!  We already benefit from your retirement!  
I am ashamed to say that I have not read even the Korean translation, when I 
knew very well my mother used it as one of the references, when she was 
writing "Encounter." I can't wait for my own retirement to read Dallet's 
_Histoire_ completely, but I want to read at least the introduction and the 
part on the Korean language before then.  I wish I had the book right here 
now.  I feel the urge to propose myself as a possible collaborator of yours 
for the translation project, but I already know my limits and should not allow 
myself to be presumptuous.
