I beg to ask the question about politics and democracy in South
Korea.
The way I understand it on a line of continuim is as follows:-

<--Communisim-----Socialism-----Fabianism---Centre
Left -----Centre----Centre Right------Liberal Conservative-----National
conservative -----Neo Conservative--->

Where do people place the present Democratic system of government?

Does the present S.K.government system believe in the concept of a
Welfare
state or Anti Welfare state?

An example is of course Australia where we have disappearing Fabian and
left
wing democractic views being eroded to right wing globalisation
antiwelfare
liberalism, which is of course Labour and Liberal governments ..quite
the
same as the westminster system in England which has a labour government
but
is is more centre right than centre left and fabian where Labour used to
hang out.

In America you can see the same thing happening at the moment where Bush
is
more of a right wing anti welfare liberal and Gore has a more a center
right
to centre view with some good views on concepts of welfare and positive
discrimination.

What I have found in South Korea that there is some welfare system
allbeit
small, however their Medicare system equates better than even the
Australian
health care system.
But falls down on many things like education costs and accommodation for
the
poor and the unemployed and the aged care system.

Love to hear some views on this.
Regards,
Lance.
