Bears have been valorized as the symbolic mother figure of Korean for
their perseverance, tenacity and persistence, while those characters are
also seen as the sign of dullness, and lack of "sense." If you see bears in

If my memory is correct, Soon-Won Hwang's novel _Living with (like) the
stars_ has Gom-Yeo (Bear-Woman) as its heroine.

More recently OB baseball team name is OB Bears and DanKook University has
Bear as its symbolic animal.
