Mark,

Not to be trivial or too much off your request, but any question of
invasions into the Korean peninsula should also be tempered by
equally pertinent queries concerning the question of invasions
launched from the Korean peninsula. Particularly, I am writing of
the invasion, subjugation, and colonization of the T'amna Kingdom by
first the KoryO and then the ChosOn dynasties. While much has been
made of the long-suffering history of the peoples of the Korean
peninsula at the hands of her neighbors, little has been written of
the once-independent Cheju Island kingdom that suffered a similar
fate as a result of expansionist desires by Korean kingdoms.
